Smriti Mandhana lit up her Haldi ceremony with a lively dance performance alongside several Indian teammates, creating a joyful all-yellow celebration. Mandhana is set to marry music composer Palash Muchhal on November 23.

Joining her on the dance floor were Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Shreyanka Patil, Renuka Singh, Shivali Shinde, Radha Yadav, and Jemimah Rodrigues, all dressed in bright yellow to match the festive theme. The camaraderie was unmistakable as the group grooved to upbeat wedding tracks, celebrating Mandhana’s big day with infectious energy.

Shivali Shinde, Mandhana’s teammate from the Ratnagiri Jets in the Women’s Maharashtra Premier League, added a special touch to the occasion. Shreyanka Patil’s appearance also stood out, marking a rare public outing since her last game for India at the 2024 T20 World Cup. The celebration doubled as a warm cricketing reunion, bringing together World Cup winners Shafali, Radha, Richa, Renuka, and Jemimah. Shafali later shared a video of Mandhana dancing, captioning it “Ladki Wale.”

Engagement announcement through dance

Mandhana confirmed her engagement to Muchhal in a fun and refreshing way, sharing a playful Instagram reel featuring a choreographed dance with her teammates. Set to the classic Bollywood track “Samjho Ho Hi Gaya” from Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), the video included Jemimah, Shreyanka, Radha, and Arundhati, turning a simple dance into a joyful engagement announcement.

On Friday, Palash Muchhal shared a heartwarming video of his proposal at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium, the venue where India lifted the Women’s World Cup earlier this month after defeating South Africa in the final. In the clip, he is seen leading Mandhana, blindfolded, to the centre of the pitch before getting down on one knee and presenting a ring.

“She said yes,” he captioned the emotional video.

Mandhana had a stellar campaign in the Women’s World Cup, scoring 434 runs in nine innings — the most by any Indian in a single edition. She averaged 54.25 with a strike rate of 99.08, including a superb century (109) and two half-centuries. In the final, she contributed a composed 45 off 58 balls, providing a crucial foundation and setting the tone for India’s title-winning performance.
