For some time now, Smriti Mandhana has been batting on a level above all other mortal women, especially in the 50-over format. The Indian opener recently became the first woman ever to score 1000+ runs in a single calendar year. And now, in the same innings against Australia in India's 4th match in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup, a half-century later, Smriti Mandhana crossed the 5000 runs mark in Women's ODIs.

In doing so, the left-handed opener became only the fifth batter and second Indian to reach the milestone in the Women’s ODIs. She is also the youngest and fastest to get there in terms of innings (112) and balls faced (5569), bettering Stafanie Taylor (129 innings) and Suzie Bates (6182 balls), respectively.

The other two batters on that list are Mithali Raj from India and Charlotte Edwards from England. But this isn't the only statistic in which Mithali Raj was leapfrogged by Smriti Mandhana.

The current World No.1 also moved past former legend Mithali Raj in the list of the 50+ scores against Australia in ODIs. Today's half-century in the ICC Women's ODI World Cup was Mandhana's 10th fifty against the Aussies. She surpassed Mithali Raj's 9 to get into double figures.

While the opening partnership with Pratika Rawal was ravaging, Smriti's innings came to an unfortunate end, however, as she holed out to deep-midwicket after attempting to slog sweep Sophie Molineux for a really well-made 80 runs.
