NEW DELHI: Mohammed Siraj became the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket this year when he dismissed West Indies batter Shai Hope (103) in the second innings of the second Test in Delhi on Monday.
On the fifth ball of the 84th over, Siraj finally breached Hope's defence to claim his second wicket, taking his tally to 37 wickets in eight Test matches this year.
This haul puts him at the top of the list for the most Test wickets in 2025. Zimbabwe's Blessing Muzarabani is second with 36 dismissals in nine matches, while Siraj reached his 37th wicket in the 15th innings of his eighth Test.

Siraj finished the five-match series against England earlier this year as the leading wicket-taker with 23 scalps, nine of which came in the final Test.
In Jasprit Bumrah's absence, Siraj stepped up and produced one of the finest spells of his career to lead India to a famous six-run victory, helping the Shubman Gill-led side level the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2-2.
In the first Test against the West Indies at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Siraj claimed four wickets in the first innings and followed it up with three more in the second innings.
In the ongoing Delhi Test, he bowled nine overs in the first innings, picking up a solitary wicket.
In the list of Indian bowlers with most Test wickets in 2025, Siraj is followed by Jasprit Bumrah (20), Prasidh Krishna (20) and Ravindra Jadeja (15).
