The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will once again be in the spotlight as it prepares to host another IPL final. Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru will battle for the coveted IPL 2026 trophy at the iconic venue on Sunday, May 31.

For Gujarat Titans, the occasion comes with an added advantage. The 2022 champions will be playing at their home ground, a venue where they have enjoyed tremendous success over the years.

GT thriving at their fortress

Gujarat Titans have been one of the strongest teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium this season. The Shubman Gill-led side won five of their seven home matches during the league stage and looked extremely comfortable in familiar conditions.

The Ahmedabad surface has often provided assistance to fast bowlers, particularly with the new ball. While batters can score heavily once set, pacers who maintain disciplined lines and lengths have regularly found success at the venue.

That could be a major advantage for GT, who possess one of the most dangerous pace attacks in the competition. Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Siraj and Jason Holder consistently delivered breakthroughs throughout the season and will once again have a massive role to play in the final.

RCB's batting lineup has been one of the best in IPL 2026, but overcoming Gujarat's quality bowling attack in home conditions will be a significant challenge.

A special venue for Royal Challengers Bengaluru

While Gujarat Titans enjoy the home advantage, the Narendra Modi Stadium also holds special memories for RCB.

It was at this very venue that RCB finally ended their 18-year wait for an IPL title. In the IPL 2025 final, Bengaluru defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to lift the trophy.

Those memories will certainly give the defending champions confidence as they return to Ahmedabad for another title clash.

However, this time the challenge appears even tougher against a GT side that knows the venue inside out.

RCB's overall record in Ahmedabad

RCB's overall record at the Narendra Modi Stadium has been evenly balanced.

The franchise has played eight IPL matches at the venue, winning four and losing four. Their record against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad is also tied at 1-1.

Among those defeats was the painful loss to Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2022, which denied Bengaluru a place in the final.

Despite the mixed record, RCB will draw confidence from their title-winning triumph last season.
