GT eye home advantage
Like RCB, the Gujarat Titans also clinched 9 wins in the league stages to secure a Qualifier 1 spot. However, GT suffered a heavy defeat against RCB in Dharamsala, boosting the latter's confidence today.
Gujarat overcame their Qualifier 1 defeat with a dominant and morale-boosting win against RR in Qualifier 2. Captain Shubman Gill recorded his 5th IPL century and Sai Sudharsan added another fifty to regain momentum before the final.
Notably, GT defeated RCB in their home fixture in Ahmedabad earlier this season and will look at home advantage to bring up their second title.
RCB arrive as favourites
Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the defending champions and the table toppers, will enter this fixture as the favourites. RCB finished the league stage at the top of the points table with 9 wins in 14 games, securing a Qualifier 1 spot.
Rajat Patidar's side then thrashed GT by 92 runs while defending a total of 254 in Qualifier 1. Patidar led by example by smashing 93 off 33 balls and the franchise stalwart Virat Kohli contributed with 43 off 25 balls.
Now, playing back-to-back finals, RCB will look to clinch their second title today.
