After falling short in the final of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, the New Zealand national cricket team are determined to take lessons from the campaign rather than dwell on the disappointment.
Reflecting on the journey, team captain Mitchell Santner acknowledged that reaching the final itself was a significant achievement and a testament to the squad's consistency and resilience throughout the tournament.

The players are expected to take some time over the coming days to review their performances and understand what worked and what didn’t during the competition. The aim, according to Mitchell Santner, is not just to analyse the final but to assess the tournament as a whole.
Despite the heartbreak of missing out on the trophy, the group remains confident that their run to the final was a commendable effort.
“Over the next few days, we’ll sit down as a group and reflect on this tournament and what it looked like for us,” Mitchell Santner said in the post-match press conference.
“Making it to a World Cup final is never easy. The boys have put in a huge effort throughout the tournament and they should be very proud of what they achieved.”
While the defeat will sting, the focus now shifts to learning from the experience and building on a campaign that once again showed New Zealand’s ability to compete with the best on the biggest stage.
