Prithvi Shaw will play for Maharashtra in Domestic Cricket for the 2025-26 season after securing a no-objection certificate(NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), which was allowed to him in the last week of June.
Prithvi Shaw said, “At this stage of my career, I believe that joining the Maharashtra team will assist me further as a cricketer, and I am deeply grateful to the Mumbai Cricket Association for the opportunity and support I have received over the years”.

Maharashtra cricket president Rohit Pawar welcomed him, adding that his International and IPL experience would enhance the team, which is currently led by Ruturaj Gaikwad. Mumbai Head mixed domestic season last year not able to perform well in the Ranji Trophy and Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, but they have to reach to the semi-final in the Vijaya Hazare Trophy. The inclusion of Shaw will boost the confidence of the entire squad to perform well.

Despite his good performance, he dropped due to the lack of discipline and fitness from the Mumbai Ranji team during the last season. His last appearance for Mumbai was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in December 2024, and he remains unsold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 auction.

In List-A cricket, Shaw has scored 3399 runs at 55.72 average and a strike-rate of 125. In T20 cricket, they scored 2902 runs with an impressive strike rate of 151. 54 and an average of 25.1. This upcoming opportunity will be a very good chance to rise again as a cricketer.
