Pakistan clinched the T20I Tri-Series 2025 title with a composed six-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, showcasing disciplined bowling and a steady chase under pressure. The final at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium featured shifting momentum, but once Pakistan seized control, they never let it slip.
Sri Lanka, put in to bat, started brightly. Pathum Nissanka opened with a boundary and a six, but Shaheen Afridi struck back quickly, removing him for 11 in the third over. Kamil Mishara and Kusal Mendis then rebuilt with a steady partnership. Mishara rotated strike confidently while Mendis battled through a scratchy start.
Their 64-run stand took Sri Lanka to 84/2 by the 11th over, but Pakistan broke through at the ideal moment. Mohammad Nawaz dismissed Mendis, and from there, Sri Lanka’s innings unraveled. Mishara top-scored with a well-crafted 59, but his wicket triggered a collapse. Saim Ayub removed him, Abrar Ahmed and Nawaz tightened the screws, and Shaheen returned to finish the job. Sri Lanka tumbled from 98/2 to 114 all out in 19.1 overs, unable to withstand Pakistan’s pressure.
Babar Azam anchors Pakistan’s chase with unbeaten 37

Chasing 115, Pakistan adopted a cautious approach. Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub focused on strike rotation as Sri Lanka kept things tight, restricting Pakistan to 32 in the powerplay. Farhan briefly lifted the scoring with a six but departed for 23 soon after.
Babar Azam entered with trademark composure. Alongside Saim, he stabilised the innings through controlled batting and smart rotation. Their 29-run stand laid the foundation, and even after Saim fell for 36, Babar held firm. Salman Agha and Fakhar Zaman made small contributions, though their dismissals added mild pressure.
Babar remained unflustered, guiding the chase with a fluent unbeaten 37 off 34 balls. Supported late by Usman Khan, he ensured Pakistan crossed the target in 18.4 overs to seal a clinical win and lift the T20I Tri-Series 2025 trophy.
