NEW DELHI: With the Bangladesh and T20 World Cup saga continuing to gather momentum, a fresh reported development has now come to light.

After the Bangladesh Cricket Board recently approached the ICC requesting a change in venue for its matches due to security concerns, PCB, led by Mohsin Naqvi has now entered the discussion.

According to a report by Geo Super, the Pakistan Cricket Board has conveyed its willingness to host Bangladesh’s matches during the T20 World Cup 2026.

The report adds that PCB has informed the ICC it is open to stepping in if Sri Lanka is unable to accommodate Bangladesh’s fixtures. This comes amid BCB’s refusal to travel to India, citing safety concerns.

The issue has been brewing for a while now. It escalated further after Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman was released by KKR amid growing political tension between India and Bangladesh.

Soon after, the Bangladesh Cricket Board flagged security concerns and requested the ICC to consider shifting their matches outside India. Since then, the matter has turned into a major talking point, especially with the T20 World Cup 2026 just a few weeks away
