NEW DELHI: Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami is set to represent the Lucknow Super Giants after being successfully traded in from Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shami, who was SRH's second-costliest signing ahead of IPL 2025 at Rs 10 crore, will join LSG at his existing fee.

With his signing, LSG now have two new Indian quicks on board before the auctions - the other being Arjun Tendulkar from Mumbai Indians.

The senior pacer brings a wealth of experience, having played 119 IPL matches across five franchises since making his debut in 2013. Before joining SRH, Shami was an integral part of the Gujarat Titans setup and clinched the Purple Cap in 2023 with 28 wickets in 17 matches.

Although he missed the 2024 season due to injury, he enjoyed an equally impactful 2023 campaign, contributing 20 wickets to GT’s title triumph.

In another major deal, Rajasthan Royals traded left-handed batter Nitish Rana to Delhi Capitals. He will continue with his existing contract value of Rs 4.2 crore, the amount RR had secured him for at the IPL 2025 auction.

Rana, who has played over 100 IPL matches, also led Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023 during Shreyas Iyer's injury absence.
