NEW DELHI: Rohit Sharma was back to his best - both with the bat and on the stump mic - as the former Indian skipper shared a light-hearted banter with Shreyas Iyer during the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday.

The exchange took place during a running mix-up, with Rohit playfully pointing out to Iyer that they had missed a possible single.

Here's how the entire conversation unfolded between the two players:

Rohit: Shreyas, hoyega yeh!

Shreyas: Arre aap karke dekho, mere ko mat bolo na phir

Rohit: Arre tere ko call dena padega, wo saatwa over daal raha hai yaar

Shreyas: Mujhe uska angle pata nahi hai, call do naa!

Rohit: Main nahi de sakta hu yeh call

Shreyas: Saamne hai aapke

Talking about the innings, India rode on former skipper Rohit's watchful 73 and Iyer's 61 to post a competitive 264 for nine. Sent into bat, Rohit scored his runs off 97 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two hits over the fence, while Iyer made his runs off 77 deliveries that included seven fours.

The other comeback man, Virat Kohli fell for successive ducks. Besides Rohit and Iyer, Axar Patel (44 off 41) also played a good hand.

Towards the end, Harshit Rana (24 not out) and Arshdeep Singh (13) shared a vital 37-run stand for the ninth wicket to take India to the competitive total.
