NEW DELHI: Omar Abdullah on Saturday declared a cash reward of Rs 2 crore for the Jammu and Kashmir cricket team after its maiden Ranji Trophy triumph.
Describing it as a watershed moment for cricket in the region, he said the historic achievement has brought immense pride and inspiration to the entire Union Territory.

In a post on X, Abdullah announced a Rs 2 crore reward for the players and support staff following their "emphatic" victory over Karnataka cricket team on their home ground.
Abdullah had on Friday rushed to Hubballi in Karnataka to support the Jammu and Kashmir side, which had already secured a commanding first innings lead and was on the verge of claiming the trophy for the first time.
"The players will also be entitled to government appointments under the recently notified rules for outstanding sportspersons," Abdullah said.
