PSL 2026 starts on March 26 and it is the most significant edition of the tournament in its history. Eight teams for the first time.
Two new franchises in Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen and Rawalpindi Pindiz. Six venues including Faisalabad and Peshawar hosting PSL fixtures for the first time.
Forty four matches across 39 days with the final at Gaddafi Stadium on May 3. Rawalpindi Pindiz are one of the two debutant franchises and they have been dealt an early blow before their first ever PSL game with the news that Jake Fraser-McGurk has withdrawn from the tournament.
PSL 2026: What happened and what the franchise said
Fraser-McGurk was due to make his PSL debut with Rawalpindi Pindiz this season having been signed directly by the franchise after going unsold at the PSL's inaugural player auction at the Expo Centre in Lahore.
He had been placed in the highest base price category at Rs 42 million but failed to attract a buyer in either the main or accelerated rounds before Rawalpindi brought him in as a direct signing.
The franchise confirmed his departure on social media citing personal reasons. "Jake Fraser-McGurk has opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons. We respect his decision and wish him well. His replacement will be announced soon."

PSL 2026: Who Jake Fraser-McGurk is and what Rawalpindi lose
Fraser-McGurk is 23 years old and has become one of the most sought-after batters in franchise cricket over the past two years. He has played eight T20 internationals for Australia and has featured in the IPL, Major League Cricket and the Big Bash League.
He is a hard-hitting right-hander at the top of the order and his withdrawal removes one of the more exciting names from what was shaping up to be a competitive Rawalpindi squad.
He had been set to join a contingent that includes Sam Billings, Daryl Mitchell, Laurie Evans and Bangladesh's Rishad Hossain. Rawalpindi Pindiz play their first ever PSL game against Peshawar Zalmi on March 28 and will be hoping to confirm a replacement before then.
