Highest Individual Score in IPL History: Top Scores in 2025 and by Indian Players

Chris Gayle obtained the record for the highest Individual score in IPL history with a fantastic 175 runs off just 66 balls at a strike rate of 265.15, hitting 13 fours and 17 sixes vs PWI in 2013. 

Gayle was followed by Brendon McCullum, who scored the second-highest with 158 runs of 73 balls at a strike rate of 216.44, smashing 10 fours and 13 sixes vs RCB in 2008. 

Abhishek Sharma smashed 141 runs in just 55 balls at a stunning strike rate of 256.36, hitting 14 fours and 10 sixes. He has achieved this milestone against the Punjab Kings in IPL 2025 and marked this innings as the highest individual score in IPL by an indian. 

Quenton de Kock registered 140 runs from 70 balls at a strike rate of 200, which included 10 sixes and 10 fours against KKR in 2022. The left-handed batter is the 4th player in the list of scoring the highest Individual Score in IPL. 

The 5th player in the list of scoring the top Individual Score IPL  is AB De Villiers. He hammered his best score of 133 with a strike rate of 225.42 IPL against the Mumbai Indians in 2015. A total of 19 fours and 4 sixes come from ABD’s bat.

KL Rahul is sitting at number 6 as the highest run scorer in a match in the IPL. Rahul has registered his highest individual score of 132 against RCB in 69 balls with a strike rate of 191.30. The right-handed batter has notched 14 fours and 7 massive sixes. He achieved this milestone in 2020. 

4 players have crossed 140+ runs in 1 match of the Indian Premier League.  All these names in the elite list are Chris Gayle, Brendon McCullum, Abhishek Sharma and Quinton de Kock, 3 foreign players and only 1 Indian player in the list.
