India started the morning session with greater intent but paid the price with a couple of wickets falling. In 26 overs, they added 109 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal was run out in the second over after adding just 2 runs to his overnight 173. Shubman Gill, who had ended Day 1 on 20 off 67 balls, looked far more positive and reached his fifty off 95 deliveries. Promoted up the order, Nitish Reddy got a reprieve on 20 but unfortunately squandered his chance, falling just 7 runs short of his half-century.
