NEW DELHI: Having proved his credentials in Test cricket, Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy made his ODI debut in the first match against Australia in Perth on Sunday. What made the occasion even more special was receiving his ODI cap from none other than Rohit Sharma. Interestingly, Reddy had also made his Test debut in Perth almost a year ago, when he received his cap from Virat Kohli. He went on to feature in all five Tests of the series, including a standout century at the MCG, solidifying his reputation as one of India’s brightest young talents. The day also marked a special moment for Australia, as debutants Matt Renshaw and Mitch Owen were handed their ODI caps. While Nitish's debut was a culmination of hard work and steady progression, Renshaw and Owen embarked on their own new journeys, full of promise and anticipation on the international stage. Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl against India in the first ODI.
