The highest team score in the T20 international is more than just a record on a spreadsheet; it serves as a benchmark for the evolution of the sport.
Zimbabwe – 344/4
Zimbabwe holds the world record for the highest T20I score by team, with the score of 344/4 in 20 overs against Gambia in Nairobi on 23 October 2024. However, Zimbabwe won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Sub-Regional Qualifier B by 290 runs. Sikandar Raza's unbeaten 133 runs off 43 balls made this innings historic.
Nepal – 314/3
Nepal set the highest T20I score by a team in 2023 when it made 314/3 against Mongolia in Hangzhou on 27 Sep 2023. Nepal won the match by a huge margin of 273 runs. In this match, Kushal Malla has created the fastest T20I hundred in just 34 balls.
England – 304/2
England amassed 304/2 against South Africa at Manchester on 12 September 2025 and defeated the visitors by 146 runs. Phil Salt’s historic chase of 141 off 60 balls made it a more memorable match.
India – 297/6
India's highest T20I team score came on October 12, 2024, when it made 297/6 against Bangladesh in Hyderabad. Sanju Samson's blistering century helped India to win the match by 133 runs.
Zimbabwe – 286/5
Zimbabwe has once again dominated the T20I highest score by team list when they made 286/5 against Seychelles in Nairobi on 19 October 2024. The match was decided by the DLS method due to rain, and Zimbabwe won by 76 runs.

India has displayed their prowess on the tour of South Africa and added another golden chapter to the list of the highest T20I scores by team when played at Johannesburg on November 15, 2024. India has posted a massive score of 283/1. India defeated the hosts by a huge margin of 135 runs, with big thanks to twin centuries from Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma.
Afghanistan – 278/3
Afghanistan has scored the highest team score in a T20 international against Ireland in Dehradun on 23 February 2019, where Afghanistan scored 278/3, thanks to Hazratullah Zazai's unbeaten 162.
India – 271/5
India has set the latest example of the highest score in T20I by a team on 31 January 2026. India won the match by 46 runs after scoring 271/5 against New Zealand at Thiruvananthapuram and proved the depth of their batting.
England – 267/3
England displayed their aggressive batting prowess on their tour of the West Indies at Tarouba on December 20, 2023, where England posted a massive 267/3 against the hosts. Phil Salt's explosive century laid the foundation for this big score, thanks to which England won the match by a huge margin of 75 runs.

Australia played an innings against Sri Lanka at Kandy on September 6, 2016, that remained a world record for many years. Australia scored a mammoth total of 263/3.
