NEW DELHI: Dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya and star batter Shubman Gill have returned to India’s T20I squad for the five-match series against South Africa after recovering from injuries, the BCCI announced on Wednesday.
Gill, who missed most of the Test series and the ODIs against South Africa due to a neck injury, has been named vice-captain for the T20 games. His participation will be confirmed after fitness clearance from the BCCI Centre of Excellence.

Pandya Back After Fitness Test
Pandya, who missed the Asia Cup final and the recent series in Australia, proved his fitness during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match against Punjab on Tuesday, earning a recall to the squad.
Gill, India’s Test and ODI skipper, injured his neck during the opening Test in Kolkata and subsequently missed the second Test in Guwahati and the ODI series that followed.
T20I Series Schedule
The selection committee finalised the squad on Wednesday. The five-match series starts on December 9 in Cuttack.
- 1st T20I: December 9 – Cuttack
- 2nd T20I: December 11 – Chandigarh
- 3rd T20I: December 14 – Dharamsala
- 4th T20I: December 17 – Lucknow
- 5th T20I: December 19 – Ahmedabad
