NEW DELHI: Team India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, continued their impressive run in T20 cricket, sealing a 2-1 series win over Australia after the final match at the Gabba in Brisbane was washed out due to heavy rain. The side showed consistency and depth throughout the five-match series, building strong momentum ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.

Praise for the Team

In the post-match presentation, captain Suryakumar Yadav praised his team’s response after a slow start to the tour. “Weather isn't in our control. Credit to all the boys to bounce back after losing the first game,” he said. “Bowlers, fast and spin, know their roles really well. Bumrah, Arshdeep and the spinners are all doing really well. They bring a lot to the table, plan for things and execute them which is what you want.”

Looking Ahead to the World Cup

The skipper was particularly pleased with the balance of the squad, calling it a “good headache” for the upcoming World Cup. “We have 2-3 series before the World Cup, which offers us a great build-up,” Suryakumar said. “It’s a good headache to have regarding the squads for the WC. Everyone is contributing and making a case for themselves.”

Reflecting on the bigger picture, Suryakumar also drew inspiration from India’s women’s team, who recently lifted the ODI World Cup. “I saw recently what happened with the women's team, who won the WC. There's a lot of excitement, support and responsibility at home,” he said. “It’s an exciting tournament ahead, but still a couple of series to go before that.”

With depth in both batting and bowling and a captain leading with calm authority, India’s T20 unit looks settled and confident as they turn their attention to the global stage.
