NEW DELHI: Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has lauded Shweta Sehrawat's rapid development, praising the young all-rounder for her maturity both as a cricketer and a leader.

He expressed confidence that Sehrawat is well placed to take the next big step in her career on the back of her growing influence in the Women's Premier League.

Turning out for UP Warriorz in the ongoing WPL season, Sehrawat has steadily built on her performances year after year. Her run tally reflects that progress, having scored 108 runs in the 2024 edition and following it up with 119 runs in 2025, underlining her upward trajectory in the tournament.

"Shweta's growth as a player and as a leader has been remarkable. Leading South Delhi Superstarz to the DPL title showed her clarity under pressure. We wish her the very best with UP Warriorz and hope she carries that winning mindset to go on and lift the WPL trophy as well," Dhawan, co-owner of South Delhi Superstarz, said in a release.

Her credentials were underlined during the 2025 Delhi Premier League, where she led South Delhi Superstarz to the title and struck a match-winning 110, her highest score of the competition.
