The fourth T20I between India and New Zealand will be played at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday, January 28, with the visitors looking to salvage some pride after a torrid series so far.

New Zealand have endured one of their toughest T20I outings, already losing the five-match series after falling 3-0 behind India. While the Men in Blue have been dominant throughout, the Black Caps were initially without a few key players, all part of their T20 World Cup 2026 plans, who have now linked up with the squad.

Neesham and Ferguson boost New Zealand for fourth T20I

All-rounder Jimmy Neesham and pace spearhead Lockie Ferguson are set to feature in the fourth T20I. Neesham recently returned from the Bangladesh Premier League, where he played a pivotal role in Rajshahi Warriors’ title-winning campaign. Although he joined the squad ahead of the third T20I in Guwahati, a niggle kept him out of the match. He is now fully fit and expected to play in Vizag.

Ferguson, meanwhile, has recovered from a calf strain sustained during the ILT20 last year. The Punjab Kings pacer had been ruled out of the early part of the series but has now rejoined the squad. With New Zealand’s pace attack struggling to make an impact so far, the visitors will hope Ferguson’s raw speed can trouble India’s batters.

Finn Allen to join ahead of series finale

While Tim Seifert has already featured in the last two matches in Raipur and Guwahati, explosive opener Finn Allen will miss the fourth T20I. Allen is set to join the squad ahead of the fifth and final match in Thiruvananthapuram on January 31.

The right-hander arrives in red-hot form after winning the Big Bash League with the Perth Scorchers on Sunday. Allen finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, amassing 466 runs at a staggering strike rate of 184.19, and is likely to replace Devon Conway at the top of the order.

With Neesham and Ferguson available and Allen set to join later, New Zealand now have their full T20 World Cup 2026 squad assembled during the India series. Earlier, the Black Caps had replaced the injured Adam Milne with Kyle Jamieson in the World Cup squad. To accommodate the returning players, Kristian Clarke and Tim Robinson have been released from the T20I setup.
