Sri Lanka leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga will not play the upcoming T20 series against Bangladesh, scheduled to start from 10th July 2025.

Sri Lankan leg-spinner Hasaranga is suffering from a hamstring injury in his right leg while playing in the final ODI against Bangladesh. The Sri Lanka cricket team won the ODI series 2-1 against the visitors.

Unavailability of Hasaranga will be a huge loss for Srilanka they will miss a quality spinner during this T20 series.

Srilanka Captain Charith Asalanka said that Jeffrey Vandersay will be picked in the T20 team for the T20 Series in place of Asalanka. The Sri Lankan captain said, “Hasaranga is our real match winner in the white ball Cricket”.

Hasaranga is considered the best performer of Sri Lanka in the limited-overs format and is expected to play a major role in the spin department. His injury will test Sri Lanka's bowling depth as they look to continue their Momentum in the T20 Series.

Team management is keeping a close eye on Hasaranga's recovery and hoping for his fast recovery ahead of the next International assignment. His absence opens an opportunity for young spinner to display their skills on the big stage.
