Abhishek Sharma’s sensational knock helped Sunrisers Hyderabad continue their home domination as they crushed Delhi Capitals by 47 runs in Hyderabad.

This is their third consecutive win, which will give them a lot of confidence going further into the tournament.

Sunrisers Hyderabad post mammoth 242 after explosive start

After being invited to bat first by Axar Patel, SRH got off to a sensational start as Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head stitched together a dominant 97-run opening partnership.

Travis Head looked dangerous but couldn’t convert his start into a big score as he departed for 37 runs off 26 balls.

What followed was a rare, breathtaking display of batting brilliance from Abhishek Sharma, who stood tall with a blistering unbeaten 135 off 68 balls, smashing 10 fours and 10 sixes. He played his trademark fearless strokes and kept the Delhi Capitals bowlers under constant pressure.

Skipper Ishan Kishan contributed 25 runs before being run out, while Heinrich Klaasen provided a strong finishing touch with an unbeaten 37 off just 13 deliveries.

Sunrisers Hyderabad finished with a massive total of 242/2 in 20 overs.

It was a disappointing bowling performance from Delhi Capitals. Apart from skipper Axar Patel, who picked up one wicket, none of the bowlers could make an impact.

Delhi Capitals collapse despite fighting efforts in chase

Chasing a massive target, Delhi Capitals never looked settled. Openers Pathum Nissanka fell early for just 8 runs, putting immediate pressure on the innings.

KL Rahul and Nitish Rana tried to stabilise the innings, but the required rate kept climbing. Rahul eventually fell for 37 runs, and the game slipped further away when Delhi Capitals lost quick wickets in clusters, including back-to-back breakthroughs from Eshan Malinga that completely broke the chase.

Sameer Rizvi tried to fight back with a fluent 41-run knock, but the asking rate was simply too steep.

Delhi Capitals were eventually restricted to 195/9 in 20 overs, falling short by 47 runs.

Eshan Malinga leads Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack

For Hyderabad, it was a brilliant bowling performance led by Eshan Malinga, who picked up 4 wickets in his 4 overs, completely dismantling the Delhi Capitals chase.

Harsh Dubey also played a key role with 3 wickets, while Sakib Hussain and Dilshan Madushanka chipped in with one wicket each.
