A light-hearted moment during India’s T20 World Cup clash against the USA grabbed fans’ attention when Mukesh Ambani was seen offering tea and snacks to former India captain Rohit Sharma in the stands. The brief exchange, captured on camera, quickly went viral after Rohit politely declined the offer with a smile.

The Ambani family were present at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai for India’s opening match of the ongoing T20 World Cup on Saturday, February 7. Mukesh and Nita Ambani watched the game alongside family members, including their elder son Akash Ambani and their grandchildren.

Earlier in the evening, Rohit Sharma made a special appearance at his home ground as the brand ambassador of the T20 World Cup 2026. He walked onto the field with the tournament trophy alongside ICC president Jay Shah ahead of the India–USA encounter.

Rohit was appointed ambassador after leading India to their second T20 World Cup title two years ago in the Caribbean. Following that triumph, he announced his retirement from T20 internationals, with the ICC later naming him as the face of the 2026 edition.

Before the toss, Rohit was seen chatting with former teammate Yuzvendra Chahal and current India skipper Suryakumar Yadav. As he carried the trophy onto the field, fireworks lit up the stadium and chants of “Rohit, Rohit” echoed through the Wankhede, creating a memorable atmosphere.

Rohit later joined the Ambani family in the VIP box, where Mukesh and Nita Ambani warmly welcomed him. During the match, cameras caught Mukesh Ambani offering Rohit a cup of tea and snacks. Rohit declined politely, and the simple, unscripted moment quickly spread across social media, drawing amused reactions from fans.

On the field, India recovered from an early wobble to register a comfortable 29-run victory over the USA. Captain Suryakumar Yadav led from the front with a match-winning unbeaten 84 off 49 balls, striking 10 fours and four sixes as India posted 161 for 9 in their 20 overs.

Ishan Kishan contributed 20 off 16 balls, while Tilak Varma added a brisk 25 off 16 deliveries. For the USA, Shadley van Schalkwyk impressed with figures of 4 for 29, and Harmeet Singh claimed 2 for 26.

In reply, the USA were restricted to 132 for 8. Milind Kumar top-scored with 34 off 34 balls, while Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Shubham Ranjane chipped in with 37 each. Mohammed Siraj starred with the ball for India, picking up 3 for 29, while Axar Patel and Arshdeep Singh took two wickets apiece.
