Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced Rubin Hermann as a replacement for Dewald Brevis for the remainder of the ODI series against Pakistan. The wicketkeeper-batter joins the squad after Brevis sustained a shoulder injury while fielding during the third T20I in Lahore.

Although ruled out of the ODI series, Brevis will stay with the national team to prepare for South Africa’s upcoming two-Test tour of India, set to begin on November 14.

Hermann, who was part of South Africa A’s ongoing unofficial Test series against India A, impressed with a half-century in the first match, which India A won by three wickets. The 28-year-old has represented South Africa in six T20Is but is yet to make his ODI debut.

The visitors are already missing several key players, including Aiden Markram, Kagiso Rabada, Temba Bavuma, Keshav Maharaj, David Miller, Gerald Coetzee, Ryan Rickelton, and Tristan Stubbs.

Pakistan currently lead the three-match ODI series 1-0, having won the opening game by two wickets. The remaining matches will be played in Faisalabad on November 6 and 8.
