NEW DELHI: Pakistan has time and again accused India of mixing politics in sports, but the truth is far from reality, with a viral video on social media showing Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi stooping to a new low as he dragged the country's army chief, Asim Munir, while replying to a question during a press conference.
It was only the Pakistani government's decision to boycott their T20 World Cup match against India on February 15 in Colombo, followed by the expected withdrawal after intervention from Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
The PCB has now also been given clearance to play India if both countries have to face off again in the latter stages of the World Cup.
Yesterday during the PSL event, journalists asked question to Mohsin Naqvi about ICC's sanctions.

Then he brought Asim Munir into the cricket question.
They are literally mixing politics with cricket, But according to experts India is playing politics🤦pic.twitter.com/IPvbg5W6t3
At a Pakistan Super League (PSL) press conference, Naqvi was asked about the ICC's alleged "threats" over Pakistan's boycott of the upcoming India match. Instead of sticking to cricket, the PCB chief once again dragged army chief Asim Munir into the discussion, revealing a highly politicised mindset.
"Neither am I intimidated by the threats from India and the ICC, nor is the Government of Pakistan. And as for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, you already know him, he never gets afraid," Naqvi said.
Despite Pakistan making a U-turn and having all their demands rejected by the ICC, the perception in Pakistan is that the PCB emerged victorious in the standoff, as reflected in a question posed by a Pakistani journalist.

In another viral video, a reporter asked Naqvi if he had "brought the ICC to its knees," implying that the global body had relented in front of the PCB.
