Despite being one of the most criticized names in WWE today, the success of Jey Uso keeps on touching the sky. He started working as a singles star in 2023, and he has done a marvelous job so far. It all started with an Intercontinental Championship win last year, followed by a surprising men's Royal Rumble win earlier this year.

He went on to challenge Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE WrestleMania 41 and successfully won the title. Even after he dropped the Championship back to Gunther, he kept on remaining in the World Championship picture, and he still maintains his main event status. Even at the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event show, he will fight for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Jey Uso talks about his solo run so far

Jey Uso has been working as a singles star since 2023, and he has mostly been seen as a singles wrestler ever since. Jey recently talked about his experience working as a solo star and how he adapted to the transition. He spoke on the “RAW Recap” podcast, where he explained the following about his solo run so far;

“Man, I like that era. That’s where the Main Event character was born from. You know, take no prisoners, I was right hand man for a reason. I do got that dog in me, man. If needed to be come out, I let it out. I just felt like how you said Uce, everything that you named off.

"Winning the Heavyweight World Championship, going out on my own, succeeding. Being a top guy, being a big hitter on Monday Night Raw. Man, I still feel like I ain’t got my flowers. I still feel like I’m still trying to prove myself.”

“I’m tired of everybody talking down on my name, man. I I go hard every single week, man. Every week you see it what I bring to the table, man. And I still feel like I’m still getting looked over. It was still getting disrespected, man. And that’s just gonna stop. Don’t let these bright colors, don’t let it fool you.

He has been receiving a main event push since early 2025

"Because I get down man. Seeing Punk asking me how far I’m gonna go, what I’m willing to do? Come on, man. Y’all seen my story. I’ll run through my own family to to to get to the top too now. Because I understand what it takes. So I’m just out for respect now.”

Jey Uso also had to go through a lot of criticism for getting overpushed throughout 2025. A large number of fans are still not ready to accept him as a main eventer. But the Yeetman is trying really hard to justify his main event status. At the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event show, he will face CM Punk for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship.
