A large number of fans are really unhappy that LA Knight is not given the World Championship despite being one of the most famous names in WWE right now. The Megastar's popularity kept on growing among the fans once he started playing his usual character. It will not be exaggerated if said he is one of the most famous names in WWE right now.
Vince McMahon never wanted to push him as a top star. He did not even see him as a wrestler, as he gave him the character of a player manager. Triple H restored his Knight gimmick after he took charge of the WWE creative. But he did not see him as a top star either. Once he saw his popularity was reaching the sky, he decided to put himself over as a top star.
Bubba Ray Dudley explains how LA Knight can be made World Champion
Knight even won the WWE United States Championship two times, and he did an excellent job as the champion. But the fans are not happy with the way he is treated in WWE since he has not held the World title ever. WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley recently pitched a storyline idea on how he could be made World Champion. Speaking on the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, he explained the following;
LA Knight is a two times WWE United States Champion
“Get him out of the championship picture and put him in a ‘blood feud.’ Have a heel tell LA Knight, ‘You’re a one-trick pony. You’re a flash in the pan. You’re nothing more than a catchphrase. And let me tell you something, LA Knight, I don’t think you understand this, so listen to me very, very carefully. These fans don’t really like you. These fans don’t really love you.'”
“All you have to do is say that to LA Knight, and you will immediately get the people behind him more than they are right now. And they’re losing, even though they’re with him during the match. It’s going to be easy for fans to lose faith in him because he seems to be there, there, and then he loses. He’s right there, he’s right there, and then he loses.”
Knight is active in RAW right now
“They haven’t had a chance to really cheer and truly get behind LA Knight for a big win. If he’s out of the championship picture, have a heel come up to him and go, ‘Dude, you’re useless. You’re worthless. You’ve been in the business for twenty years, and you haven’t done s***. And other than them saying ‘LA Knight’ and ‘Yeah,’ you got nothing. You’re on your way to the mid-card, maybe opening match. Enjoy being irrelevant because the fans don’t like you. If they really, really liked you…” said the WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley.
Much like Knight, Jey Uso also became overnight popular, and Triple H made him the WWE World Heavyweight Champion and and he also won the men's Royal Rumble match. A large number of fans are not happy with Jey Uso getting such success, and Knight remains left off. Things may change if Knight's popularity among the fans remains intact.
