Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal opened up on his struggles and career disappointments in the recent Raj Shamani’s podcast. Jaiswal was left out of the upcoming T20I squad for the India vs Australia series. Having made his debut in 2023, Jaiswal has impressed everyone with his performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and Test cricket.

Despite his starry performances, Jaiswal spoke about handling pressures with maturity. “It’s not my decision, and it’s out of my control,” Jaiswal said. “There’s no point thinking about things that aren’t in my hands. I just try to focus on improving what I can and live in the present. Whatever happens, happens for good.”

He added, “Whatever is written in my fate, no one can take away. And whatever isn’t meant for me, no one can give it.”

Jaiswal has played in 23 T20Is to date, scoring a total of 723 runs with an average of 36.15 at an impressive strike rate of 164.31. His IPL 2025 performance showcased his ability in the shortest format by scoring 559 runs in 14 matches at a strike rate of 159.71.

Jaiswal last played a T20I for India in 2024 against Sri Lanka, but now the talented left-hander has been selected for India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against Australia later this month, even though he is out of the T20 team.
