NEW DELHI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was hospitalised after experiencing severe stomach pain following his 15-run knock for Mumbai against Rajasthan in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, shared a health update and expressed his gratitude for the continued support and love.

"Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the overwhelming good wishes over the last few days. I'm recovering well, grateful for the fantastic medical support, and looking forward to being back on the field soon!," Jaiswal posted on X.

The issue was later diagnosed as food poisoning, which caused a sudden and significant loss of weight in a short period. Doctors have advised him to take at least a week off before returning to training.

"It was a case of food poisoning after he ate something at the Pune hotel. He was in pain initially but his condition has improved with timely medication. He has already lost more than two kilos in the last couple of days and the doctors have advised rest for at least seven to ten days," a source told Times of India.

Jaiswal ended SMAT with 145 runs from three matches at an impressive strike rate of 168.6, including a remarkable century during Mumbai's successful 235-run chase against Haryana.

He had also shone in the recent ODI series against South Africa, amassing 156 runs across three games, highlighted by his maiden ODI hundred.
