NEW DELHI: Ravindra Jadeja’s lean run in white ball cricket continued as the all rounder failed to deliver when India needed him the most in the third ODI against New Zealand.
Chasing a daunting target of 338 runs, India’s top order collapsed under pressure with only Virat Kohli showing resistance. As wickets kept falling, the onus shifted to the middle order to steady the chase and provide support to Kohli.
Anoter poor show
Jadeja walked in at a crucial stage but once again could not make an impact. He departed for just 12 runs off 16 balls, struggling to rotate the strike and unable to lift the scoring rate. His dismissal further dented India’s hopes in an already difficult chase.
The numbers make for worrying reading. Jadeja managed only 43 runs across three innings in the series and failed to pick up a single wicket despite bowling a fair number of overs. With both bat and ball, the experienced all-rounder could not influence the contest.
This continued dip in form has once again put Jadeja under the scanner in ODIs. Fans were quick to express their frustration on social media, with many questioning his place in the side and suggesting he focus solely on red ball cricket for now.
With ODI cricket set to take a back seat in the coming months, the bigger question now is about Jadeja’s future in the format. Whether the team management continues to back his experience or looks for fresh options will be a key talking point going forward.

Why fraud Jadeja is even playing ODIs for India ? This guy rarely contributes in ODIs for India that too with ball only when pitch is absolute spinner friendly.#INDvsNZ pic.twitter.com/orJLgj42pg
Ravindra Jadeja shouldn't play another ODI for team India, he has been a great servant for team India but its time to move on from him. He doesn't fit in India's white ball teams!! pic.twitter.com/0jNFKFwdiu

Ravindra Jadeja is Worst ODI Batsman

-He continues to get chances in the Indian team due to political quota, not performance.
-He was dropped after the 2017 Champions Trophy, especially after the final where Hardik Pandya was run out.
-His last ODI fifty on Indian pitches came… pic.twitter.com/dGnZeHThAe
Ravindra Jadeja is still recovering from that trade and hasn’t been the same since the move between RR and CSK#INDvsNZ pic.twitter.com/y8NW9RiMVw
