Fans were left disappointed as they missed live visuals of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s return-to-action centuries in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday. Despite both superstars producing stunning hundreds, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not broadcast or live stream their respective matches from the opening round of the tournament.

Rohit Sharma, featuring in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time in seven years, tore apart an inexperienced Sikkim bowling attack with a magnificent unbeaten 155 off just 94 balls in Jaipur. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli led from the front for Delhi, smashing a fluent 131 off 101 balls against Andhra Pradesh at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.
The BCCI opted to telecast only two matches from the opening round, leaving fans reliant on highlights. While short clips of Rohit and Kohli’s innings were eventually released, the poor video quality sparked backlash on social media. Many fans mocked the board, likening the footage to visuals captured on a vintage camera.

Chasing Sikkim’s total of 236, Rohit started aggressively, dispatching the bowlers with ease as he peppered the boundary with sixes and fours. The knock marked his 37th List A century, taking him closer to the 14,000-run milestone in the 50-over format. It added to his already remarkable tally of 33 international centuries for India.
Kohli, meanwhile, made his Vijay Hazare Trophy comeback after a 15-year gap and did so in trademark fashion. Guiding Delhi in a 299-run chase, the former India captain paced his innings to perfection, bringing up his 58th List A century. The hundred was also his third in four innings, underlining his red-hot form since the South Africa series earlier this month.
