NEW DELHI: Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who missed out on selection in the 15-member Asia Cup squad due to a fractured foot, shared an update on his recovery process via social media.
Pant had sustained the injury on the opening day of the fourth Test against England last month, which forced him to return home and subsequently miss the fifth Test as well.
"Just wanna tell you one thing which I understand is doesn't matter how much pain you have endured in past if you get hurt again it pains the same that's for sure. just the threshold goes up and you know the process to keep pushing yourself. So being positive is massive, motivating yourself works a lot. Keep trusting yourself and keep working in the direction you wanna take your life because what doesn't kill you makes you stronger eventually," Pant captioned his images on Instagram.

Pant picked up the injury after inside-edging a reverse sweep from Chris Woakes onto his foot while batting on 37. He collapsed in pain, with medical staff rushing in before he was taken off on a golf cart. Subsequent scans confirmed a fracture, sidelining him for at least six weeks.
Even before the setback, Pant wasn't part of India's immediate T20I plans. Sanju Samson has established himself as the first-choice wicketkeeper, with Pant last turning out in the format against Sri Lanka at Pallekele in July 2024.
His absence has further solidified Samson's position, while Jitesh Sharma has been added as the second wicketkeeping option.
