Virat Kohli, known for lighting up social media with his animated on-field moments, was at it again on Saturday, December 6. During the third ODI between India and South Africa in Visakhapatnam, the former India captain grabbed Temba Bavuma’s wicket and celebrated in a style that instantly went viral.

The moment unfolded in the 21st over when Ravindra Jadeja tempted Bavuma with a delivery outside off. The South African skipper, who had been steady during his 48 off 67 after walking in early following Ryan Rickelton’s first-over dismissal, went for the drive but ended up slicing it straight to Kohli at backward point. It was a straightforward catch, but what followed stole the show.
Kohli gleefully mimicked Bavuma’s walk after the dismissal, sparking laughter among teammates and confusion among the crowd, until they realised what he was doing. As the stadium caught on, cheers erupted, marking one of the most entertaining moments of the game. The breakthrough was crucial too, as Bavuma had been a consistent threat to India in recent contests and had already put on a solid 113-run stand with Quinton de Kock.
