NEW DELHI: Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh shared his excitement after meeting Lionel Messi during the Argentine great's visit to Mumbai on Sunday as part of the GOAT India Tour. Mumbai marked the third stop of the tour, following earlier engagements in Kolkata and Hyderabad.

Messi, accompanied by teammates Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul, thrilled fans with their presence at the Wankhede Stadium. The trio also interacted with several prominent Indian figures, including football icon Sunil Chhetri, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, and Maharashtra chief minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Harbhajan, who represented both India and the Mumbai Indians during his career, met the stars along with his family and later shared a photograph from the occasion on social media.

"What a day meeting with one and only G.O.A.T Lionel Messi. Thank you Rony Satadaru for making it happen. Great host CCI Mumbai & well done Mumbai Police. Great Job done," Harbhajan Singh wrote on X.

Messi-Tendulkar exchange

Tendulkar gifted his autographed India's limited-overs jersey with No. 10 -- which is also the number Messi sports during matches -- while the Argentine presented a football to the batting legend.

The celebrated duo also had one-to-one chats during the programme.

Before Messi arrived for the evening event at Wankhede, the Argentine, who had landed in Mumbai in the afternoon, was present at the iconic Cricket Club of India (Brabourne Stadium) for a Padel event, whose details are unknown.
