NEW DELHI: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was in the spotlight off the field recently, not for his cricketing exploits, but due to an unpleasant encounter with a misbehaving fan.

The incident occurred as Pandya stepped out of a restaurant in Mumbai following a Christmas dinner with his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma.

As Hardik was making his way to his car, fans tried to approach him for selfies and pictures. However, one fan crossed the line and reportedly shouted, “Bhaad me jao” (Go to hell) in a disrespectful manner. Pandya, showing remarkable composure, either ignored the comment or chose not to react and calmly proceeded to his car.

His response has been widely praised on social media, with many applauding him for maintaining his cool and not engaging with the rude behaviour. Fans highlighted that such poise is a sign of maturity, especially when celebrities face constant public attention.

Off the field, Hardik Pandya has been in sensational form. He was the star of India’s recent T20I series against South Africa, delivering a blistering all-round performance in the final match.

The all-rounder now turns his focus to India’s upcoming T20 series against New Zealand, where fans expect him to continue his rich vein of form and contribute with both bat and ball.
