NEW DELHI: Team India's squad for the 2025 Asia Cup drew a lot of attention due to the absence of Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, the Suryakumar Yadav-led team boasts significant strength and depth needed for the tournament.

With the tournament fast approaching, former Indian batter Virender Sehwag has picked his three game-changers. Speaking to Sony Sports, his surprising picks have already created quite a buzz.

"I think Abhishek Sharma can be a game-changer. Bumrah is always a game-changer. Varun Chakravarthy, with his mystery bowling, was very effective in the Champions Trophy and in the T20 format as well. So, these are some game changers for India who can win matches on their own," Sehwag said.

Jasprit Bumrah, managed carefully during India's five-Test series against England, featured in only three matches. The ace pacer is now set to return to T20 cricket following India’s 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. In IPL 2025, Bumrah impressed with 18 wickets in 12 matches, showcasing his lethal form.

Joining him, Abhishek Sharma has established himself as a key opener in the shortest format. Since making his debut last year, he has become a reliable asset with his explosive batting.

Varun Chakravarthy also returns to the squad after playing in India's last T20I series against England earlier this year. In 18 T20 matches, he has claimed 33 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.02.

Team India will kick off their Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the UAE on September 10.
