Litchfield, UPW’s leading run-scorer this season, has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury, a major setback to the team’s playoff hopes ahead of their crucial clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday. The Australian has been in fine form, amassing 243 runs in six matches and currently sits among the top three run-getters of the season.

Jones, who has represented England in 125 T20Is and scored 1,666 runs, has been signed for ₹50 lakh, as stated in an official WPL release.

UP Warriorz find themselves under pressure, with just two wins and four points from six matches, along with a worrying net run rate of -0.769. While they still have two matches in hand against RCB and Delhi Capitals — even reaching eight points may not guarantee qualification, with their fate also hinging on other results.
