NEW DELHI: The SA20 is back, with fans thronging the stadium in large numbers to witness their favourite teams and players in action. But this is not the only reason fans turn up in such huge numbers - they also get a chance to showcase their catching skills and win cash prizes for their efforts from league's title sponsor Betway.
For the ongoing SA20 season, league sponsor Betway has introduced a special incentive: any fan who takes a clean one-handed catch during a match will win his/her share of the Rand 2 Million on offer.

The Joburg Super Kings vs Pretoria Capitals match saw the two lucky winners of the Betway challenge. During the game, JSK batter Wiaan Mulder smashed back-to-back sixes, and on both occasions, fans took a clean one-handed catch - a video of which went viral on social media.
However, several reports claimed that a single fan wins the entire 2 million Rand (around Rs 1.07 crore), but there's a catch.
What's the truth
For those unfamiliar with the details, the claim that a single fan wins the full 2 million Rand (around Rs 1.07 crore) is not accurate. The 2 million Rand represents the total prize pool, which is shared among all fans who successfully complete the challenge.
For instance, in SA20 Season 3, nine fans managed to take a clean one-handed catch. The prize money was split among them, with each fan receiving roughly Rs 12 lakh for their effort.

Well done to Thiart Johannes Le Roux and Tristan Ian Wylie. 🙌🔥🔥🔥
A share of R2 Million has been secured. 🤑
They could’ve tripled their share if they had only played the Betway Catch game!… pic.twitter.com/LOz1vIngPm
Additionally, the cheques awarded to winners after each match clearly indicate that the amount is a portion of the overall 2 million Rand prize pool, not the entire sum.
