India T20I stars Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube have informed the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) of their availability to play a couple of matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025/26 ahead of the upcoming India vs New Zealand T20I series. The duo, who were last seen in action during India’s home T20I series against South Africa, were not initially named in Mumbai’s squad announced last week for the domestic 50-over tournament.
The Vijay Hazare Trophy is set to get underway from December 24, and both players are expected to use the matches as a tune-up ahead of international commitments.
Meanwhile, former India captain Rohit Sharma is also likely to feature in a couple of Vijay Hazare Trophy games for Mumbai before India’s ODI series against New Zealand. Shardul Thakur has been named captain of the Mumbai side for the tournament, which will see several senior players returning to domestic cricket as part of workload management and match practice plans.
