India captain Suryakumar Yadav climbed five places to seventh in the latest ICC men’s T20I batting rankings on Wednesday, rewarding his prolific run in the ongoing five-match home series against New Zealand, which India currently leads 3–0.
The former No.1 batter scored 32, 82 not out and 57 not out in the series so far to surge up the standings. India continues to dominate the upper echelons of the rankings, with Abhishek Sharma holding on to the top spot and Tilak Varma placed third, just 10 days ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Ishan Kishan has also re-entered the T20I batting rankings, climbing to 64th after his explosive 76 off 32 balls in the second match at Raipur. Shivam Dube (up nine places to 58th) and Rinku Singh (up 13 places to 68th) are among the other Indian batters to make notable gains from the top-ranked T20I side.
Afghanistan openers Ibrahim Zadran and Rahmanullah Gurbaz have also progressed following their team’s 2–1 series win over the West Indies in Dubai. Ibrahim has moved up two spots to 13th, while Rahmanullah climbed three places to 15th. Player-of-the-Series Darwish Rasooli enjoyed the biggest jump, surging 29 places to 87th after scoring 156 runs in the series.
South Africa captain Aiden Markram’s unbeaten 86 off 47 balls against the West Indies has lifted him into the top 20. West Indies batter Brandon King (up 15 places to 35th) and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips (up 18 places to 44th) also made significant progress.

In the T20I bowling rankings, Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb ur Rahman’s figures of 4 for 21 in the second match against the West Indies helped him climb five places to ninth. India’s Jasprit Bumrah (up four places to 13th) and Ravi Bishnoi (up 13 places to 19th) also advanced, while South Africa’s Corbin Bosch rose eight places to a career-best 32nd.
India all-rounder Hardik Pandya enjoyed a strong all-round rise, jumping 18 places to 59th in the bowling rankings after picking up four wickets in three matches. He also climbed two spots to 53rd among batters and edged up one place to third in the all-rounders’ rankings.
Meanwhile, in the ODI rankings, England batters Harry Brook and Joe Root made notable gains after guiding their side to a 2–1 series win in Sri Lanka. Brook’s 247 runs across three matches saw him jump 17 places to 11th, while Root climbed from 23rd to 17th after aggregating 184 runs.
In the ODI bowling rankings, leg-spinner Adil Rashid moved up six places to fifth after claiming seven wickets in the series, while Sri Lanka left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage advanced from 43rd to 29th.
