NEW DELHI: Former India off-spinner Sunil Joshi on Monday stepped down from his role as spin bowling coach of IPL side Punjab Kings, citing personal reasons.

The 55-year-old had joined Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2023 and played a key role in guiding the team, which reached the final earlier this year.

"He will be leaving the Punjab side as he wants to spend more time with his family in Bangalore," an IPL source told PTI.

Joshi had previously been part of the Punjab Kings coaching setup during Anil Kumble's tenure as head coach. He later served as India's chief selector and was a member of the senior selection panel.

As a player, Joshi represented India in 15 Tests and 69 ODIs between 1996 and 2001.
