NEW DELHI: The debate over Virat Kohli's potential participation in the 2027 Cricket World Cup has intensified following his stellar performance against Australia, and now former Australian cricketer David Warner has weighed in with a bold claim.
Kohli anchored India's successful chase in the third ODI in Sydney with an unbeaten 74 runs off 81 balls, showcasing his enduring class in the 50-over format.

Warner Backs Kohli's Longevity and Fitness
David Warner expressed full confidence in Kohli’s ability to remain at the top through to the next global tournament, emphasizing that the only real limiting factor would be Kohli himself, not his physical condition.
"I think that's a good question for Virat. If you have still got the hunger and the desire to keep playing, and he wants to play in 2027, and his mindset is there, there's no reason why he can't," Warner stated. "He's one of the fittest guys in the game... I've got no doubts he can make that." Warner was quoted as saying by Fox Cricket.
The former Australian opener further praised the star’s dedication, adding: "It's whether or not he still has that passion to get up for training and for doing all the stuff that you have to get there. And I would never doubt that at all with his mindset."
His masterful innings in SCG, which included an impressive 168-run partnership with Rohit Sharma, helped India secure a comfortable nine-wicket victory. The performance was a strong response after the batting maestro had recorded two consecutive ducks in the opening two matches of the series, firmly showcasing his ongoing dominance.
