NEW DELHI: Sri Lanka have named their squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with experienced all-rounder Dasun Shanaka set to lead the side.

Shanaka had earlier been confirmed as captain when the preliminary squad was announced in December, and the selectors have stuck with that decision.

The squad carries a solid white-ball core, featuring the likes of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka, all of whom bring considerable experience to the lineup.

All-round depth continues to be a major strength for Sri Lanka, with Wanindu Hasaranga, Kamindu Mendis and Dunith Wellalage providing valuable balance through their dual skills.

The bowling attack is bolstered by proven pace options Dushmantha Chameera and Matheesha Pathirana, while mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana adds variety and control.

Sri Lanka are currently involved in a home T20I series against England, with the visitors leading 2-0 heading into the final match scheduled for tomorrow.

The island nation will be hoping to draw inspiration from their lone T20 World Cup triumph in 2014, when they defeated India in the final to lift the trophy.
