NEW DELHI: Dismissing Virat Kohli is a moment most bowlers can only dream of, and for Gujarat spinner Vishal Jayswal, it became a lifelong memory at the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Beyond the wicket itself, Jayswal revealed that his post-match interaction with the Indian great made the experience even more special.

After the game, Jayswal gathered the courage to approach Kohli to get the match ball signed. Admitting he was nervous, the young bowler said the respect he has for Kohli outweighed everything else. "I was a bit nervous, but I went up to him and thanked him. I asked him to sign the ball. It's a memory I'll keep safe for my entire life," Jayswal told Sports Yaari in an exclusive interview.

What followed left a lasting impression on the youngster. Kohli, instead of showing disappointment, praised Jayswal's bowling. "He told me, 'Well bowled, keep it up.' Hearing that from someone like Virat Kohli meant a lot to me," Jayswal added.

Jayswal also spoke highly of Kohli's current form, suggesting the star batter looks as dangerous as ever. Having watched him closely from the field, the spinner felt Kohli is operating at an elite level once again.

"Seeing him from close quarters, I feel he is back in his prime - maybe even better than before. He's become more of a striker, playing with intent and confidence. It's amazing to watch," he said.

Kohli was well on course for his second successive century in the tournament, but left-arm orthodox Jayswal brought his innings to an end by having him stumped for 77 off 61 balls.

"Virat always scores hundreds. For me, it was a big opportunity just to bowl to him. I'm grateful I got that chance. He will keep scoring runs and make many more centuries for his fans," Jayswal said.

For Vishal Jayswal, the wicket of Virat Kohli was not just a career-defining moment, but a lesson in humility, respect, and inspiration - one that he says will stay with him forever.
