NEW DELHI: The much-awaited wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been put on hold due to a sudden family health scare.
The postponement comes after Smriti’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a heart attack during the preparations for the ceremony at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli.
Family rushes to hospital
Immediately after the incident, Srinivas Mandhana was taken to a private hospital in Sangli for urgent medical care. Smriti Mandhana, along with her immediate family, rushed to the hospital upon receiving the distressing news.
Hospital sources have confirmed that Mr. Mandhana’s condition is currently stable and he is under close observation, providing some relief to the family amid the tense situation.
The wedding organisers have officially informed the media that the ceremony scheduled for today has been cancelled. Decorations at the venue are being dismantled, and no new dates have been announced for the resumption of the celebrations.
While the delay has disappointed fans eagerly following the event, the focus remains on the health and recovery of Srinivas Mandhana. Both families are prioritising his wellbeing, and any plans to restart the wedding festivities will be communicated at an appropriate time.
Amid this unexpected turn of events, well-wishers have expressed their support and hope for a speedy recovery, sending strength to Smriti Mandhana and her family during this challenging moment.
