NEW DELHI: Star Indian women's cricketer Smriti Mandhana thrilled her fans by announcing her engagement with a playful Instagram reel featuring her teammates.

Mandhana has generally kept her personal life private, but rumours about her relationship with music composer and filmmaker Palash Muchhal had been making the rounds for months.

The couple's relationship was first hinted at publicly in October when Muchhal jokingly remarked at an event at the State Press Club in Indore that Mandhana would soon become Indore's daughter-in-law. Her viral Instagram reel has confirmed the news

Mandhana, joined by teammates Jemimah Rodrigues, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, and Arundhati Reddy, put together a fun and lively performance to the song "Samjho Ho Hi Gaya" from the film Lage Raho Munna Bhai.

The short reel quickly went viral online. At the finale of the clip, Smriti proudly showcased her engagement ring to the camera, putting to rest the long-standing rumours about her relationship.

Mandhana was instrumental in India's maiden World Cup triumph, finishing as the tournament's second-highest run-scorer with 434 runs at an impressive average of 54.25.

Her match-winning 109 against New Zealand in the league stage stood out as one of the tournament's defining moments. She also hit two fifties during the tournament.
