NEW DELHI: South Africa spinner Simon Harmer's standout performance in the recently-concluded two-match Test series against India earned him the ICC Men's Player of the Month for November 2025 award.
With 17 wickets in two matches, Harmer emerged as the star performer, helping South Africa secure victories against India in Kolkata and Guwahati and guiding the Proteas to a historic 2-0 series win - their first Test series triumph in India since 2000.
The right-arm spinner triumphed over Bangladesh's Taijul Islam and Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz to win the prestigious award for the first time in his career.
His stellar performances not only helped South Africa complete a series sweep but also propelled them to second place in the ICC World Test Championship 2025–27 standings.
Harmer emphasises that his individual achievement - the ICC Men's Player of the Month award - is not just his own, but the result of collective effort from his teammates, coaches, and support staff.
He also expresses pride in being part of the South African team and looks forward to continued success, showing commitment to both his team and the broader journey of his cricketing career.
"It's a privilege to be named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for November." said Harmer.
"Playing for my country is a dream come true and anything else that comes from it as a result is a bonus.
"I share this award with my teammates, coaches and support staff and dedicate it to my family who allow me to go out and live my dream, often having to leave them at home to do so.
"It's a privilege to be a part of the Proteas team and I hope to enjoy many more successful seasons with this remarkable group of people."
