Shreyas Iyer, India's ODI vice-captain, updated the fans with a comforting message regarding his recuperation after he got a rib injury in the third ODI against Australia in Sydney. The injury occurred in the 34th over of the Sydney ODI when Iyer attempted a diving catch to dismiss Australia’s Alex Carey. He landed awkwardly on his right side and appeared to be in considerable pain before being stretchered off the field. While initially thought to be a minor impact, further medical assessments revealed a more serious injury, requiring hospitalisation.
