Pakistan all-rounder Shadab Khan is expected to make his comeback to international cricket in the upcoming home T20I tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. The leg-spinning all-rounder last represented Pakistan during the three-match home series against Bangladesh in May-June earlier this year.

Shadab, who has been out of the Test and ODI setups for some time, has missed a series of international assignments since then — including the away T20I series against Bangladesh, the tour of West Indies, the tri-series in the UAE, the 2025 Men’s T20 Asia Cup, and the recently concluded home series against South Africa.

After being sidelined for over five months due to a shoulder injury, Shadab made a strong return in a practice match in Lahore, where his form and fitness were assessed by National Cricket Academy (NCA) head Aaqib Javed and national selectors, according to a PTI report. The 26-year-old completed his rehabilitation under the supervision of the NCA’s medical staff before taking part in the game.

His performance reportedly impressed the selectors, putting him in contention for a last-minute call-up for the tri-series, which begins on Monday, November 17, with Pakistan facing Zimbabwe in the opening match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

As of now, neither the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) nor the selection committee has officially confirmed Shadab’s inclusion. In his last T20I series against Bangladesh, the all-rounder took four wickets in three matches and contributed 55 runs across two innings, helping Pakistan seal a 3-0 series victory.
